Aynor, nicknamed The Little Golden Town, is in northwestern Horry County on U.S. 501, about 15 miles from Conway. It began as Eyknor's Farm in the mid-1800s, grew into a center for turpentine, tobacco and cotton, and incorporated in 1913 when the railroad from Conway reached it. Gabriel Edwards was elected the first mayor that year. Aynor had 974 residents at the 2020 Census, and it is home to the tribal office of the Waccamaw people.
Aynor is a small rural town, so hospitals and specialists are mostly in Conway and Myrtle Beach. Check that those hospitals and your primary care doctor are in network before you choose a plan. Medicare Advantage and Part D plans are approved county by county, and Abilla Advisors can compare Horry County options against your doctors and prescriptions at no cost to you. Call 843-284-6815.
