About Clinton

Clinton is a Laurens County city of 7,633 residents (2020 census) and home to Presbyterian College, founded by Presbyterian minister William Plumer Jacobs. John Duncan, a Scottish native, was the first settler in 1752. The town was called Five Points as late as 1852 before being renamed for Henry Clinton Young, who planned its first roads.
