How to Use It
Part A is automatic when you enroll in Medicare. For MA members, follow your plan's prior authorization requirements for non-emergency admissions.

Medicare Part A is hospital insurance covering inpatient stays, skilled nursing facility care after a qualifying hospital stay, hospice care, and some home health services.

2025 Part A cost sharing (Original Medicare): $1,676 deductible per benefit period; $419/day coinsurance for days 61–90; $838/day for days 91+.

Medicare Advantage plans replace these costs with their own copay structure — often $0–$350/day for the first few days, then $0. The MOOP cap ($9,350 in 2025) protects against catastrophic costs that Original Medicare lacks.
