Quick Info

Who Gets This Benefit
All Medicare beneficiaries enrolled in Part B
Typical Coverage
80% after deductible for most covered services; 100% for most preventive care
How to Use It
Show your Medicare card (or MA card) at doctor visits. For MA members, use in-network providers to get the lowest costs.

Medicare Part B is medical insurance covering doctor visits, specialist appointments, lab work, X-rays, preventive screenings, outpatient surgery, mental health services, and durable medical equipment.

2025 Part B costs: $185.00/month standard premium; $257 annual deductible; 20% coinsurance after deductible (no cap).

The 20% coinsurance with no out-of-pocket maximum is why many people get Medigap or Medicare Advantage — both cap your liability. Medicare Advantage replaces the 20% coinsurance with copays and a MOOP cap.
