The wider area skews older than the state: 28.4% of Beaufort County residents are 65 or older, and the median age on Hilton Head Island is 59.3, per Wikipedia citing Census data. For a community this size, plan choices, provider access and enrollment timing matter.
The community lists four fitness centers, eight pools, three dog parks, 7.5 miles of trails and three golf courses. Active residents often ask whether their plan includes a fitness benefit, how far their doctors are from home, and what happens when they travel. Those questions are covered in our other Sun City articles.
